Try getting ringtones from free sites like phonezoo.com. You can find tons of free tones to send to your phone. You can even create your own from MP3s that you already have on your computer. They do send a pix or text message (depending on the carrier) to your phone with the ringtone, so that is the only charge you might incur from your carrier. If you have unlimited text/pix, it will be like it is free - I have created all of the ringtones on my phone and haven't paid for one.
